# Who pays for Onform?

Coaches and organizations pay for Onform. Athletes and parents invited by a coach use it free. Here's who pays, how the free trial works, and which plan fits you.

Works on: iPhone, iPad, Android and web.

In short: **coaches and organizations pay. Athletes and parents invited by a coach don't.** Athletes who train without a coach on Onform can buy their own plan. For current plans and prices, see [onform.com/pricing](https://onform.com/pricing/).

## Who pays

| You are | Do you pay? |
| --------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| A coach working with athletes | Yes, you need a coach plan. |
| An academy, club, school or team | Yes. The organization pays for a coaching seat for each coach on staff. Coaches with a seat don't need their own plan. |
| An athlete or parent invited by a coach | No. You use Onform free while you're connected to your coach. |
| An athlete training on your own | Yes, you need an individual plan. See [My coach doesn't use Onform. Can I still use it?](https://github.com/Onform-Inc/onform-docs/tree/main/athletes/practice-and-improve/my-coach-doesnt-use-onform-can-i-still-use-this-platform.md) |

You need a paid plan on every app, including Android.

## The free trial

Every new account starts with a **14-day free trial** with full access to Onform.

* You don't need a card to start it, and **you won't be charged when it ends**. There's nothing to cancel.
* To keep using Onform after the trial, choose a plan. See [Subscribe or change your plan](/account/plans-and-payments/subscribe-or-change-your-plan.md).
* When the trial ends, your account has limited features until you subscribe. You can still export the videos in your Library.
* **Invited by a coach?** Accepting your coach's invite ends your trial and gives you free access instead. If you still see "Your 14-day Free Trial Has Ended", see [Why am I asked to pay?](https://github.com/Onform-Inc/onform-docs/tree/main/athletes/join-your-coach/why-am-i-asked-to-pay.md)

## What athletes get free with a coach

When your coach invites you as an athlete, you can do all of this at no cost:

* Record and import videos, and share them with your coach
* Watch your coach's Voice-over lessons and notes
* Chat with your coach in your workspace

Your free access depends on two things: your coach keeps their plan, and you're set up as an **Athlete** in their workspace. If you see an **Upgrade** message, see [Why am I asked to pay?](https://github.com/Onform-Inc/onform-docs/tree/main/athletes/join-your-coach/why-am-i-asked-to-pay.md)

A few extras depend on your coach's plan. For example, a coach on Coach Pro can let golfers see 3D swing metrics in the workspace settings. If you want more advanced tools for yourself, you can upgrade to an individual plan. It doesn't change anything for your coach.

## The plans

Onform has three coach plans and two individual plans. This is what each is for. For the full feature comparison and prices, see [onform.com/pricing](https://onform.com/pricing/), or tap **Compare Features** on the plan screen in the app.

| Plan                    | Who it's for                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      |
| ----------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Coach Basic** | Coaches who need the essentials for a smaller number of athletes. |
| **Coach Standard** | Our most popular coach plan, for coaches with larger rosters. Adds unlimited videos and Voice-overs, unlimited teams and athletes, Shared Collections and bulk invites, multi-camera recording with two angles, radar integrations, and tools to manage staff in an organization. |
| **Coach Pro** | Everything in Coach Standard, plus full 3D with data, multi-camera recording with up to four angles, scheduled messages, a studio setup with a Control iPad, pressure mat integration and longer recordings. |
| **Individual Standard** | Athletes who want their own plan, training on their own or alongside a coach. |
| **Individual Premium** | Athletes who want the most advanced tools, such as 3D data and multi-camera recording. |

Individual plans are for your own training. They can't invite athletes.

{% hint style="info" %}
Many Coach Pro tools, such as 3D, are built for golf today. Coaches in other sports usually choose Coach Standard. Not sure which fits? Email <support@onform.com> and tell us your sport and how many athletes you coach.
{% endhint %}

Depending on the plan and where you buy it, you can pay monthly, quarterly or yearly.

## Schools, universities and multi-coach organizations

* **Schools, colleges and universities** can get academic pricing, for one coach or for a whole staff where each coach has their own sign-in.
* **Academies, clubs and teams with several coaches** get a discount for multiple coaching seats. One organization can mix Coach Standard and Coach Pro seats.

These plans are usually paid by invoice. Email <support@onform.com> from the email you sign in with, and tell us your organization's name, how many coaches need a seat, and which plan you're interested in. See [onform.com/pricing](https://onform.com/pricing/) for the plans.

## iPhone, Android and web

* **Your plan belongs to your Onform account, not your device.** Sign in with the same account on your iPhone, iPad, Android device or the web, and your plan comes with you.
* The iPhone and iPad app has the most features. The Android and web apps have fewer, so coaches get the most from an iPhone or iPad. See [What works on which app](https://github.com/Onform-Inc/onform-docs/tree/main/get-started/how-onform-works/what-works-on-which-app.md).
* You can subscribe in the iPhone, iPad or Android app, or on [onform.com/pricing](https://onform.com/pricing/). You can't subscribe from inside the web app. See [Subscribe or change your plan](/account/plans-and-payments/subscribe-or-change-your-plan.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.onform.com/account/plans-and-payments/who-pays-for-onform.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
