# Can I use Onform without a coach?

Yes. Train on your own with an individual plan after your free trial, send videos to a coach who isn't on Onform, or invite your coach to join.

Works on: iPhone, iPad, Android and web. Recording and most analysis tools need the iPhone, iPad or Android app.

Yes. Plenty of athletes use Onform on their own to film their reps, slow them down, draw on them and compare them over time. You can also send your videos to a coach who doesn't use Onform, or invite your coach to join you.

## Train on your own

1. Download Onform from the App Store or Google Play and create your account.
2. Your account starts with a **14-day free trial** with full access. You don't need a card, and you won't be charged when it ends.
3. To keep recording and analyzing after the trial, choose an individual plan. For what each plan includes and costs, see [onform.com/pricing](https://onform.com/pricing/) and [Who pays for Onform?](https://github.com/Onform-Inc/onform-docs/tree/main/account/plans-and-payments/who-pays-for-onform.md)

With your own plan you can record and import videos into your Library, watch them in slow motion, draw lines and angles on them, and compare two reps side by side. To get going, follow [Quick start: train on your own](https://github.com/Onform-Inc/onform-docs/tree/main/get-started/start-here/diy-athlete.md).

## Send videos to a coach who isn't on Onform

Your coach doesn't need Onform to watch your videos. Send them a link or the video file.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="iPhone and iPad" %}

1. In your Library, touch and hold the video and tap **Share**.
2. On **Select Recipients**, tap the **…** button at the top right.
3. Choose one of these:
   * **Copy Link**: copies a link you can paste into a text, an email or any app.
   * **Share Via Email**: opens your email app with the link ready to send.
   * **Share To Other Apps**: sends the video file itself, by Messages, WhatsApp, AirDrop and so on.
     {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Android and web" %}

1. In your Library, tap the three dots next to the video.
2. Choose one of these:
   * **Copy Link**: copies a link you can paste into a text, an email or any app.
   * **Share via email**: opens your email app with the link ready to send.
   * **Share to other apps** (Android only): sends the video file itself through another app.
     {% endtab %}
     {% endtabs %}

Your coach can watch a link in their web browser without an Onform account. Anyone with the link can watch it, so only send it to people you mean to.

Want your coach to see what you've marked up? Draw on the video and record a [Voice-over](https://github.com/Onform-Inc/onform-docs/tree/main/coaching/analyze/how-to-record-a-voiceover.md) talking through it, then share the Voice-over.

## Invite your coach to Onform

Working together in Onform gives you a private chat with your coach, and they can send you Voice-over lessons on your own videos.

1. Tell your coach about Onform. They can download it and start their own free trial. Coach plans are on [onform.com/pricing](https://onform.com/pricing/).
2. Once they're set up, they add you as an athlete and send you a 5-character invite code.
3. Enter the code while signed in to the account you already use, so your videos stay with you. See [Join your coach with an invite code](/athletes/join-your-coach/join-your-coach-with-an-invite-code.md).

Athletes connected to a coach use Onform free. If you've bought your own plan, joining a coach doesn't cancel it. You can keep it for the extra tools, or manage it in [Subscribe or change your plan](https://github.com/Onform-Inc/onform-docs/tree/main/account/plans-and-payments/subscribe-or-change-your-plan.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.onform.com/athletes/practice-and-improve/my-coach-doesnt-use-onform-can-i-still-use-this-platform.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
