# Close and reopen Onform

Fully close Onform and open it again on iPhone, iPad or Android, or reload it in your browser. A quick first step when something looks stuck.

Works on: iPhone, iPad, Android and web.

If a screen is frozen or something isn't updating, closing Onform completely and opening it again often fixes it. Going back to your Home screen isn't enough: the app keeps running in the background.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="iPhone and iPad" %}

1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle until you see your open apps. On a device with a Home button, double-click the Home button.
2. Swipe left or right to find Onform.
3. Swipe up on the Onform preview to close it.
4. Open Onform again from your Home Screen.
   {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Android and web" %}
**Android:**

1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold, or tap the square **Recent apps** button, to see your open apps.
2. Find Onform and swipe it up or away to close it. Some phones show a **Close** button instead.
3. Open Onform again.

**Web:** reload the page (press F5, Ctrl+R on Windows or Cmd+R on Mac, or click the browser's reload button). If that doesn't help, close the tab and open [app.getonform.com](https://app.getonform.com/) again.
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

Closing Onform pauses any uploads. They carry on when you open the app again, so leave it open afterwards until they finish.

Still not right? Restart your phone or tablet and try again, then [contact support](/help/contact-us/contact-support.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.onform.com/help/troubleshooting/how-do-i-completely-close-my-app.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
