# Onform settings

Every setting in Onform's own Settings on iPhone, iPad, Android and web: what each one does, its default, and where to find it.

Works on: iPhone, iPad, Android and web. The iPhone and iPad app has many more settings than Android and web.

This page lists every setting in Onform's own Settings, grouped the way the app groups them, with what each one does and what it's set to when you first install Onform.

## Open Settings

1. On the Home screen, tap your profile icon (your photo, or your initials).
2. Tap the settings icon (the gear) at the top.
3. Change what you need, then tap **Done**.

Settings are saved on this phone or tablet, so if you use Onform on two devices, set each one up.

1. On the Home screen, tap your profile icon at the top right.
2. The settings are in the list that opens: **Local Cache Settings**, **Send logs to support** and **App Language Settings**.

**Local Cache Settings** is on Android only, because the web app doesn't keep videos on your computer.

## iPhone and iPad

### Cloud Sync

| Setting                                       | What it does                                                                                                                                         | Default |
| --------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------- |
| **Local Cache Settings**                      | Opens the storage page (see the next table).                                                                                                         |         |
| **Backup Files Over Cellular (If Available)** | Uploads and downloads videos over mobile data as well as Wi-Fi. Turn it off to save data: uploads then wait for Wi-Fi.                               | On      |
| **Serialize Uploads**                         | Uploads one video at a time instead of several at once. Can help on a weak connection.                                                               | Off     |
| **Disable Background Uploads**                | Stops uploads while Onform isn't on screen. Only change this if we ask you to.                                                                       | Off     |
| **Enable Proactive Downloads**                | Downloads videos automatically when their thumbnails appear in your Library or chats. Leave it off to choose which videos to download and save data. | Off     |

### Local Cache Settings

| Setting                        | What it does                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   | Default                    |

| **Automatic management**       | How long videos stay on this device after they're backed up, from **Keep files for 24 hours** to **Keep files forever**. After that, the copy on your device is cleared; the video stays in the cloud. Starred videos and your **Reference Content** folder are never cleared. | **Keep files for 2 weeks** |
| **Clear video cache**          | Removes the copies of backed-up videos from this device to free up space. You choose whether to keep starred and reference videos.                                                                                                                                             |                            |
| **Recover any missing videos** | Looks for videos left on this device and saves any it finds to your camera roll. Use it only when our support team asks.                                                                                                                                                       |                            |
| **Reset local database**       | Clears Onform's data on this device and signs you out, then everything downloads again from the cloud. ### Video Player

| Setting                                           | What it does                                                                                                               | Default             |

| **Left Handed Controls**                          | Moves some of the video player's buttons to the left side of the screen.                                                   | Off                 |
| **Two Finger Drawing**                            | Lets you draw with two fingers. While the drawing tools are open, pinching to zoom the video won't work.                   | Off                 |
| **Disable HD Aspect Ratio Voice-overs**           | Records Voice-overs at your screen's shape instead of standard HD widescreen.                                              | Off                 |
| **Skip Voice-over Sharing Upon Save**             | Saves a Voice-over without asking who to share it with.                                                                    | Off                 |
| **Disable Saving Of Drawings**                    | Stops your drawings being saved with the video, so they're gone when you close it.                                         | Off                 |
| **Filmstrip Scrubber**                            | Shows a strip of frames under the video for moving through it. Turn it off to use the scrubber wheel instead.              | On                  |
| **Right To Left Flywheel Scrubbing**              | Reverses the scrubber wheel: moving it left goes forward. Only applies when **Filmstrip Scrubber** is off.                 | Off                 |
| **Enable Auto Scale and Alignment On Video Open** | In golf, sizes and lines up the golfer in each video when you open videos to compare.                                      | On                  |
| **Voice-over Recording Quality**                  | **Default Quality**, **Better Quality** or **Best Quality**. Higher quality makes bigger files that take longer to upload. | **Default Quality** |

### Camera Settings

| Setting                                | What it does                                                                                                                                                                                                       | Default |
| -------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | ------- |
| **Set Max Recording Limit To 60 Mins** | Lets one recording run up to 60 minutes at any frame rate. Without it, the limit depends on the frame rate, from 15 minutes down to 1 minute. Included in some plans: if yours doesn't have it, the app tells you. | Off     |
| **Disable Auto-detect Audio Cues**     | Turns off the sounds Auto-Detect plays while it records. Auto-Detect is for golf and baseball.                                                                                                                     | Off     |

### Optional Permissions

| **Speech Recognition For Voice-controlled Recording** | Shows whether you've allowed speech recognition, which lets you start and stop recording with your voice. Tap it to allow it, or to open your iPhone or iPad **Settings** to change it. | Off until you allow it |

Other permissions, such as camera, microphone, photos and local network, are on Onform's page in your iPhone or iPad **Settings** app.

### Notification Control

| Setting                                   | What it does                                                                                                                                                                                             | Default |

| **Suppress "Video Watched" Notification** | A privacy setting for when you watch videos: it's meant to stop Onform telling the person who shared a video that you've watched it. We're fixing this setting, so for now the sender may still be told. | Off     |

### Invite Body and Invite Subject Line

| Setting                 | What it does                                                                                                                                                                      | Default                                                                 |
| ----------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Invite Body**         | The message your invites send. Keep `[invite_code]` in it, or the person can't join: Onform won't let you close Settings without it. `[first_name]` adds the person's first name. | A short message with the code, download links and how to enter the code |
| **Invite Subject Line** | The subject of invite emails.                                                                                                                                                     | "\[first\_name], join me on Onform"                                     |

### AI Models

| Setting                    | What it does                                                                                                                                                             | Default |
| -------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | ------- |
| **Fetch Latest AI Models** | Downloads the latest AI models used for 3D and other analysis. Needs a connection and at least 500 MB of free space. Tap it after you update Onform if 3D isn't working. |         |

### App Info

| Setting                                            | What it does                                                                                                                                                      | Default |

| **Send Logs To Support (Use Only When Requested)** | Creates a file of Onform's logs from this device and opens the share sheet so you can send it to us. Email it to <support@onform.com> when our support team asks. |         |

### Account Settings

| **Delete Account** | Deletes your account and its data. This can't be undone. Cancel any paid plan first. |         |

There are no video player, camera, notification or invite message settings on Android or the web.

## Change the app's language on iPhone and iPad

Onform doesn't have its own language setting on iPhone and iPad: it uses your device's language. To use a different language just for Onform, open your iPhone or iPad **Settings** app, tap **Apps**, then **Onform**, then **Language**. (On older versions of iOS, Onform is in the main list of the **Settings** app.)
