# Golf

How golf instructors, academies, studios and golfers use Onform, the golf tools from 3D to launch monitors, and where to start.

Works on: iPhone, iPad, Android and web. Most of the golf tools on this page (Auto-Detect, 3D, Multi-Cam, launch monitors and the pressure mat) are on iPhone and iPad only.

More coaches use Onform for golf than for any other sport, and golf has the most sport-specific tools. Film a swing on the range or in a bay, show your golfer what to work on with a Voice-over, and keep them practicing the right thing until their next lesson.

## Who uses Onform in golf

* **Directors of instruction** at country clubs and academies, who want every instructor on the staff giving members the same quality of lesson.
* **Club and academy instructors** teaching back-to-back lessons on the range or in a bay, who need to film a swing and send the lesson fast.
* **Indoor studios and golf centers**, where showing golfers and their parents steady progress matters as much as the swing analysis.
* **Independent instructors** teaching at ranges, studios and clubs, who want golfers to keep improving between lessons and come back.
* **College and high school coaches**, whose players often have their own swing coach as well.
* **Golfers**: those working with an instructor who practice on their own between lessons, and those working on their game alone.
* **Junior golf parents**, who want to see what their child is learning and that it's working.

## Golf tools in Onform

| Tool | What it does | Read more |
| ---------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Auto-Detect** | Records every full swing hands-free and saves each one as its own video, so you can coach without touching the phone. It can skip practice swings, and ask "How did it go?" after each shot and add your answer to the title. | [Record video in Onform](https://github.com/Onform-Inc/onform-docs/tree/main/get-started/how-onform-works/recording-modes.md) |
| **Club picker** | When your sport is golf, the tag button on the camera shows a list of clubs. Pick the club before you record and every swing is tagged with it, so you can find all the 7-iron swings later. | [Stay organized with titles, tags and search](https://github.com/Onform-Inc/onform-docs/tree/main/coaching/record-and-import/stay-organized-with-titles-tags-and-search.md) |
| **3D swing analysis** | Builds a 3D model of the swing from a single video filmed at 120 frames per second or more, with body data such as rotation, slide and sway. | [3D swing data and visuals](/sports/golf-analysis/using-3d-data-and-visualization.md), [3D questions and answers](/sports/golf-analysis/3d-faqs.md) |
| **Kinematic sequence** | Shows the order and speed of the pelvis, torso and arm through the swing, from a face-on video. | [Beginner's guide to the kinematic sequence](/sports/golf-analysis/beginners-guide-to-kinematic-sequence.md) |
| **Swing plane, club path and hand path** | Drawn on the video for you from the **AI tools** button (the sparkles icon) once 3D is ready. Swing plane needs a down-the-line video. | [Analysis tools at a glance](https://github.com/Onform-Inc/onform-docs/tree/main/get-started/how-onform-works/analysis-tools.md) |
| **Multi-Cam** | Films the same swing face-on and down-the-line (up to four angles) with extra iPhones or iPads, already in sync. | [Record from several angles with Multi-Cam](https://github.com/Onform-Inc/onform-docs/tree/main/coaching/record-and-import/how-to-use-the-multi-cam-feature-to-record-multiple-camera-angles-simultaneously.md) |
| **Multi-Cam MAX** | Brings up to four fixed cameras in a bay or studio into Onform on an iPad, through a Windows PC. | [Multi-Cam MAX overview and requirements](/sports/launch-monitors-and-golf-hardware/multi-cam-max-overview.md) |
| **Launch monitors** | Adds ball and club numbers from a Full Swing KIT, Garmin R10 or Garmin R50 to each swing video. | [Launch monitors and golf hardware](#launch-monitors-and-golf-hardware) below |
| **Pressure mat** | Shows a Sensor Edge pressure trace in sync with the video, so you can see how your golfer shifts pressure through the swing. | [Use the Sensor Edge pressure mat](/sports/launch-monitors-and-golf-hardware/sensor-edge-pressure-mat.md) |
| **PGA Coach** | Start recording in Onform from a student in the PGA Coach app, share videos back, and see your PGA Coach bookings in Onform. | [How PGA Coach works with Onform](/sports/launch-monitors-and-golf-hardware/how-pga-coach-works-with-onform.md) |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.onform.com/sports/readme.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
