# Use the Full Swing KIT with Onform

Connect a Full Swing KIT to Onform on iPhone or iPad so every shot records a video with its numbers attached, and add angles with Multi-Cam.

Works on: iPhone and iPad. Launch monitors aren't in the Android or web app.

With a Full Swing KIT connected, Onform records every shot on its own. The KIT tells Onform when the ball is struck, and Onform saves a short video of that swing with the ball and club numbers attached. You don't need to tap record between shots, so you can stay with your golfer.

## Before you start

* **A plan that includes launch monitors.** If yours doesn't, you'll see an upgrade message when you choose **Launch-Monitor**. See [onform.com/pricing](https://onform.com/pricing/).
* **A golf workspace.** The golf launch monitors show in the camera when the workspace's sport is golf, or in **Library - All Files** when golf is your sport.
* **Connect the KIT once in the Full Swing app.** Install the Full Swing app on the same iPhone or iPad, tap **Start Practice Session** and connect to your KIT. This registers the KIT with your device. After that, Onform connects to the KIT directly and the Full Swing app doesn't need to be open.
* **Bluetooth on**, and allowed for Onform: open your device's **Settings**, tap **Onform** and make sure **Bluetooth** is on.

## Connect the KIT

1. Turn on the KIT and set it up behind the ball as usual.
2. In Onform, open your golfer's workspace and tap **Library**, or tap **Library - All Files** on the Home screen.
3. Tap the record button to open the camera.
4. Tap the mode name at the top of the camera (for example **Manual**), tap **Launch-Monitor**, then tap **Use FullSwing KIT**.
5. Wait a few seconds. The status in the camera goes from **Looking for Full Swing KIT** to **Connecting with** your KIT's name, then **Full Swing KIT Ready**.

If there's more than one KIT nearby, you'll see **Select From Available Launch Monitors**. Tap **Connect** next to yours.

## Set Outdoor, Screen or Net

Tap the button next to **Full Swing KIT Ready** to open the KIT's settings:

* **Select Environment**: choose **Outdoor**, **Screen** or **Net**. The mode you're in shows under the status, for example **Screen mode**.
* **Select Measurement Type**: choose **Normalized** or **Actual**. You can only change this outdoors: in Screen and Net modes the numbers are always normalized.
* **Disconnect**: disconnects the KIT. Onform starts looking for a KIT again a few seconds later.

After you change a setting, the KIT shows **Busy** for a few seconds while it updates. Onform remembers your environment for next time.

## Choose the club

1. Tap the golfer button in the camera. **Select Club** opens.
2. Tap the club you're hitting.

Onform tags each video with the club and tells the KIT, which helps it give the most accurate numbers. To add a club, tap **+** at the top right of **Select Club**. To remove one, touch and hold it.

If you have the Full Swing app open at the same time, change the club there too.

## Hit shots

Set the camera up from any angle, on a tripod or in your hand, with your golfer in frame. Then hit.

* **Full Swing KIT Ready**: waiting for a shot.
* **Full Swing KIT Busy**: the KIT is tracking a shot or updating its settings.
* **Full Swing KIT Standby**: the KIT isn't ready for a shot yet.

Each time the ball is struck, Onform saves a short video of that swing to the Library and plays it back, then waits for the next one. To stop the playback after each shot, tap the mode name, then **Launch-Monitor** > **Launch-Monitor Settings**, and turn off **Enable Auto-Playback**.

## See the numbers on the video

Open the video from the Library. The KIT's numbers show with the video.

* **Choose which numbers show:** tap the numbers (or tap **Layout**, then **Edit Metrics**). In **Select Metrics**, turn each one on or off, and switch speeds between **MPH** and **KPH**.
* **Hide or show them:** tap **Layout**, then **Hide Metrics** or **Show Metrics**.

| Ball | Club | Distance |
| ---------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| Ball Speed, Launch Angle, Horizontal Angle, Spin Rate, Spin Axis | Club Speed, Club Path, Face Angle, Face To Path, Attack Angle, Smash Factor | Carry, Total, Apex, Side Carry and Side Total |

The distances come as normalized values, marked **(N)** on the video, for example **Carry (N)**. Outdoors you also get the actual distances.

## Add more angles with Multi-Cam

The KIT can start a Multi-Cam recording too, so you get face-on and down-the-line views of every shot, each with the numbers.

1. Link your extra iPhones or iPads: on each one, open the camera and choose **Auxiliary-Cam**. See [Record from several angles with Multi-Cam](https://github.com/Onform-Inc/onform-docs/tree/main/coaching/record-and-import/how-to-use-the-multi-cam-feature-to-record-multiple-camera-angles-simultaneously.md) for what you need.
2. On the main device, choose **Launch-Monitor** > **Use FullSwing KIT** and wait for **Full Swing KIT Ready**. You'll see a small preview from each extra camera.
3. Hit. Every camera records the shot, and the video opens with all the angles side by side.

Only the main device connects to the KIT.

## If something goes wrong

| What you see | What to do |
| ------------------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| It stays on **Looking for Full Swing KIT** | Check the KIT is on and charged, Bluetooth is on, and Onform is allowed to use Bluetooth (**Settings** > **Onform**). Connect to the KIT once in the Full Swing app, then close and reopen the Onform camera. |
| An upgrade message when you choose **Launch-Monitor** | Your plan doesn't include launch monitors. See [onform.com/pricing](https://onform.com/pricing/). |
| You see radar options instead of **Use FullSwing KIT** | The workspace's sport isn't golf. Record in a golf workspace. |
| It stays on **Full Swing KIT Busy** | Give it a few seconds after changing a setting. If it stays busy, check the ball is placed where the KIT can see it. |
| **Normalized** and **Actual** are greyed out | You're in Screen or Net mode, where the numbers are always normalized. Switch to **Outdoor** to choose. |
| The wrong club is on your videos | Pick the club again in the camera, and in the Full Swing app if it's open. |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.onform.com/sports/launch-monitors-and-golf-hardware/connecting-to-the-full-swing-kit-launch-monitor.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
