# Quick start: you were invited by a coach

Invited by your coach? Join with your invite code, watch your first lesson, send a practice clip and compare your rep. Free while you're connected to your coach.

Works on: iPhone, iPad, Android and web. Recording and Compare need the iPhone, iPad or Android app.

This page is for athletes whose coach invited them to Onform. By the end you'll have watched your first lesson and sent your coach a practice clip. **Onform is free for you while you're connected to your coach**, so you don't need a plan.

## 1. Join your coach

Your coach sends you a **5-character invite code**. It's case-sensitive and works once.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="iPhone and iPad" %}

1. Download Onform from the App Store and open it.
2. Tap **I Have An Invite** and enter your code exactly as your coach sent it.
3. Finish creating your account.

Already have an account? On the Home screen, tap **Personal Account** at the bottom, then **Enter Invite Code**.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Android and web" %}

1. Download Onform from Google Play, or open the web app.
2. Tap **I Have An Invite**, enter your code exactly as your coach sent it, then tap **Accept Invite**.
3. Finish creating your account.

Already have an account? On the Home screen, tap **Enter Invite Code**.
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

Pick a sign-in method (Apple, Google, Microsoft or email) that you can use on every device. Your coach is connected to that sign-in; a different one creates a second, empty account. If your code doesn't work, see [Join your coach with an invite code](https://github.com/Onform-Inc/onform-docs/tree/main/athletes/join-your-coach/join-your-coach-with-an-invite-code.md).

## 2. Watch your lesson

1. On the Home screen, tap your coach's name.
2. Tap **Chat**. Lessons and videos your coach sends you show up here, and in the workspace's **Library**.
3. Tap a video to play it. In a Voice-over lesson you'll hear your coach talk you through your rep and see the lines they draw.

Don't see your coach? You may be on your **Personal Account**: tap the account name on the Home screen (at the bottom on iPhone and iPad, at the top on Android and web) and switch to your coach's organization. Chat is empty? Your coach may not have sent anything yet, so send them a message to say you've joined.

{% hint style="info" %}
A Voice-over is saved as its own copy of the video, marked with a microphone. If you only hear background sound, you've opened the original clip: look for the copy with the microphone.
{% endhint %}

## 3. Send your coach a practice clip

Work on what your coach showed you, then send a clip so they can see how it's going.

1. In your coach's workspace, tap **Chat**.
2. To film a rep now, tap the video camera icon. To send a video you already have, tap the folder icon and choose **Import From Camera Roll**, **Import From Files** or **Add From Onform Library**.
3. Add a short note, for example "Working on my landing, 5 reps", and send it.

You can't record in the web app, but you can send a video you already have from the folder icon.

Videos you record in your own Library stay private until you share them. To send one, open it, tap **Share**, and choose your coach.

That's your first win: lesson watched, practice clip sent.

## 4. Compare your rep with your coach's example

Compare plays two videos side by side, so you can check your rep against your coach's demo, or this week's rep against last week's.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="iPhone and iPad" %}

1. Open one of the videos, for example your coach's demo.
2. Tap **Compare**. On iPhone it may show as an icon at the top of the screen.
3. Tap **Add** and choose your rep.
4. Tap **Link** to play and scrub both videos together. Turn your device sideways for side by side, or upright to stack them. Tap the layout button to lay one over the other.

You can also start from a Library: tap **Select**, pick two videos, then tap **Compare**.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Android and web" %}

1. In the Android app, open one of the videos, for example your coach's demo.
2. Tap **Compare**, then choose your rep on the **Select Video** screen.
3. Tap **Link** to play and scrub both videos together.

Compare isn't in the web app. Use the Android app, or an iPhone or iPad.
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

## You're set up

Keep it going between lessons: send a clip after each practice, and ask your coach questions in **Chat**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.onform.com/start-here/athlete.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
