# Quick start: coach in your program

For coaches whose academy, club or school pays for Onform: join with your invite code, find your athletes and send your first Voice-over lesson.

Works on: iPhone, iPad, Android and web. Recording a Voice-over needs the iPhone, iPad or Android app.

This is for coaches whose program (an academy, club, school or team) pays for Onform and invited them. You don't need to buy a plan. By the end, you'll have sent your first Voice-over lesson, ideally during your first session.

## 1. Join your program

Your director or program admin sends you an invite code. It's 5 characters, case-sensitive and works once.

1. Download Onform from the App Store or Google Play, or open the web app, and sign in.
2. Enter your code:
   * **New to Onform?** Tap **I Have An Invite**.
   * **Already use Onform?** On the Home screen, tap the account switcher (it shows **Personal Account** or an organization's name), then tap **Enter Invite Code**.
3. Confirm you're joining your program.
4. Check the account switcher now shows your program's name. That's where your program's athletes, teams and Collections are. Your **Personal Account** is separate.

Sign in the same way every time (Apple, Google, Microsoft or an email code), or you may end up in a second, empty account. See [Sign-in methods and more than one account](https://github.com/Onform-Inc/onform-docs/tree/main/account/sign-in-and-accounts/sign-in-methods-and-more-than-one-account.md).

**Asked to upgrade?** You probably don't have a coaching seat yet. Ask your director to open **Manage Staff**, tap your name and tap **Assign Coaching Seat**.

## 2. Find your athletes

On Home, your program's athletes and teams each have a workspace, where you share videos, Voice-over lessons and chat. Your director may have grouped them into Collections, such as "Juniors" or "Thursday clinic".

* **Can't open an athlete?** Some programs give access per athlete or team. Find the athlete, tap **Request access**, and an admin will review it.
* **Adding your own athletes?** Tap **+** on Home and follow [Invite your athletes](https://github.com/Onform-Inc/onform-docs/tree/main/coaching/organize-your-athletes/invite-your-athletes.md). If you don't see the option, your program may have admins add athletes.

## 3. Record or import a rep

Open your athlete's workspace and go to their Library.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="iPhone and iPad" %}

* **Record:** tap the record button and film the rep. It's saved to this athlete's Library.
* **Import:** tap **Import**, then choose **Camera Roll**, **Files** or **Another Onform Library**.
  {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Android and web" %}

* **Record (Android):** tap the camera and film the rep.
* **Import:** tap **Import** and choose the video.
  {% endtab %}
  {% endtabs %}

Recording in Onform rather than your phone's camera saves you a step: the rep is already in the right athlete's Library.

## 4. Send a Voice-over lesson

A Voice-over is a new video of you talking through the rep while you play, pause and draw on it. Your original video stays as it was.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="iPhone and iPad" %}

1. Open the video.
2. Tap the microphone at the top (**Record voice-over**), then talk through the rep. Slow it down, pause it and draw on it as you go.
3. Tap stop. Watch the preview, trim it with the scissors if you like, or tap **Discard** to start again.
4. Tap save, add a title (or tap **Skip**).
5. On **Select Recipients**, choose your athlete, and their parents if they're in the workspace. Tap **Next**, add a message if you like, then tap **Share With 1 Recipient** (the number matches how many you chose).
   {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Android" %}

1. Open the video.
2. Tap the microphone, then talk through the rep, pausing and drawing as you go.
3. Stop recording, then tap **Save** (use **Trim** first if you like, or **Discard** to start again).
4. Share it with your athlete.
   {% endtab %}
   {% endtabs %}

That's your first lesson sent. Your athlete can watch it as many times as they like.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.onform.com/start-here/staff-coach.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
